Many of the more than 280 students who will receive bachelor's degrees at our May 12 commencement ceremony have already finalized some exciting post-Morningside College plans.
5月12日将举行晨边学院毕业典礼，280多位学生即将毕业并获得学士学位，他们中大多数人已经做好毕业后的计划。
On a consistent basis, about 99 percent of the students in our graduating class each year successfully find employment or continue their education in graduate school within six months of receiving their diploma.
每年99%的毕业生都能在毕业六个月内就业或学习深造。
The Class of 2018 appears to be well on its way to maintaining that record. Graduates in one of our newest programs - Applied Agricultural and Food Studies - will be working for Sioux City area corporations such as American Pop Corn Company and Beef Products Inc. A Nashville based online radio station has hired a mass communication major as its program director. An English education major will be teaching in classrooms on the other side of the world at a private girl's school in Kuwait. Several students will work with the Peace Corps in a wide range of countries around the world, including Russia and the Philippines. And, as always, our nursing and education majors are in high demand.

An average of 15 percent of our graduating seniors are successful in gaining admission to graduate schools. Several of our graduates have marvelous scholarship offers to law school. One of our recent graduates received some exciting news about her career plans. Natasha Hongsermeier-Graves of Sioux City, a 2017 Morningside graduate, has been awarded the prestigious Dennis R. Washington Leadership Scholarship by the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. She will use the $120,000 scholarship to pursue a medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Currently working as an admissions counselor at Morningside, Natasha will begin her medical school studies in the fall.
