On May 28, the 3-member delegation arrived in New York and was warmly welcomed by alumnae of the North American Alumnae Association. Hwa Nan North American alumnae made thoughtful and detailed arrangements in advance for the delegation’s trip to the United States. They contacted the schools and local Chinese communities, and arranged alumnae to accompany and assist each stage of the trip to ensure a smooth visit. In the evening, alumnae gathered together, recalling the good times studying at Hwa Nan, and sharing their experience and struggles in the United States. They thanked Hwa Nan for the education, and offered suggestions for the development of Hwa Nan.
Council Chair Yu Rongmin on behalf of Hwa Nan gave each alumna a special gift - a plant transfer printing wool scarf made by Hwa Nan teachers using grass and leaves collected from the campus of Hwa Nan. She said Hwa Nan will further strengthen alumni network, fully leverage the role of alumni, and work together to seek the development of Hwa Nan.
President Ren Jianhong said that Hwa Nan will establish a more complete alumni database, form a strong alumni network, and fully mobilize alumni resources by recording alumni stories of struggle to motivate and train Hwa Nan students to become talents with social responsibility and innovative spirit.
