To help new students to adapt to the new environment and to embark on their new life, Hwa Nan held orientation for students of Class 2019 from Sept. 3 to Sept. 6.
Lectures were given to new students on a series of topics, Hwa Nan history and spirit, student status management regulations, ethos and disciplines of the school, mental health education, national security and life safety education, campus environment and facility introduction, and library introduction.
Two unique orientation activities of Hwa Nan were also introduced to the new students. Tourism Management students guided new students to visit Hwa Nan history photo gallery, which recorded Hwa Nan’s century old history, original purpose of college establishment, and achievements made in industry university research cooperation and campus culture. The visit helped new students to know about the past and the present of Hwa Nan, and strengthen their senses of identity and belonging. Etiquette training is another special training program offered to new students of the college. Through the program, students will be able to understand some basic business etiquette and build up a code of behavior and good professional image.
One week orientation successfully closed with joint efforts from teachers and students. Various wide-ranging education activities enabled new students to have full and in-depth understanding of the school, the teaching, and the service, which prepared them to better integrate into college life, and embark on their college life.
