On the afternoon of Sept. 11, the 35th Teacher’s Day celebration and the honoring meeting for the 5th outstanding models for educating students in teaching, management and service and the 2nd most beautiful teacher was solemnly held in the lecture hall, chaired by Vice President Huang Jie and attended by two hundred and thirty faculty, staff and students.

The meeting opened in the promotion video of “teachers are like candles and their ethics cast light”.  Hwa Nan leaders Su Mengna, Wang Haiyan and Ren Jianhong presented flowers to senior teacher representatives Ma Xiufa, He Xiaozhi and Wu Meiyu and sincerely wished them happy teacher’s day, long and healthy life, and family happiness.

Council Chair and Substitute President Su Mengna gave a glowing speech, extending Teacher’s Day greetings to all faculty and staff, and wishing all faculty and staff to be royal to the education cause of the Party and the State, uphold the spirit of “having received, we ought to give” without regrets, love students unconditionally, take responsibilities initiatively, have the courage to break new ground, make contributions to pursue development of Hwa Nan and pay tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

 Vice President Huang Jie delivered the award presentation speech for outstanding foreign teachers.  Council Chair Su Mengna presented Gordon Trimble and Lai Har Wong with certificates of honors and flowers.

Party Secretary Wang Haiyan read out the decision to honor the 5th outstanding models for educating students in teaching, management and service and the 2nd most beautiful teacher.  Chair Su presented certificates and prizes to the 5th outstanding models for educating students in teaching, management and service.  Secretary Wang presented the trophy and certificate to the most beautiful teacher.

Vice President Huang Jie announced the award decision for teachers and students winning competition at national level.  Administrators conferred certificates and medals to them.

The 5th outstanding model for educating students in teaching, management and service and the 2nd most beautiful teacher Chen Jiangnan gave a speech and shared her understandings and feelings of being a good teacher.  She expressed her determination and her faith in nurturing students with profound knowledge and great personality.

The meeting themed “celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and promotion of the social norms of respecting teachers” aimed to call on all faculty and staff to learn from outstanding teachers and educators, remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind so as to forge ahead and make great strides to realize the development goals of Hwa Nan and to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with outstanding performance.
