Business English Major Student Lin Jingxian Won the 3rd prize in 15th National Practical English Speaking Contest for Vocational College Students

 

On May 29, 2019 National Vocational Skills Competition and the 15th  National Practical English Speaking Contest for Vocational College Students was held in Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College.  Hwa Nan Business English major student Lin Jingxian of Class 2017 competed in this contest and achieved the third prize.  This is the best result for Hwa Nan in National Practical English Speaking Contest.

Earlier Lin competed for Practical English Speaking Contest at the provincial level.  She outscored other contestants from twenty-six vocational colleges and took the first place.  She was chosen as the only English major contestant representing Fujian province for the national contest. 

To prepare her for the national contest, the Trimbles arranged a ten day study tour for her to visit Sacred Heart Academy in Hawaii, experiencing American culture, sitting in classes and exchanging with local students in Sacred Heart.

        In recent years, Hwa Nan Business English Program has put more emphasis on student’s skill training and cultivating skilled talents.  The program has consistently improved curriculum, carefully planned practice teaching, and actively encouraged students to participate in vocational skill contests so as to promote teaching and learning.  As a result, students’ vocational skills achieve qualitative breakthrough.
