On the afternoon of May 10, college Labor Union organized a tour for faculty and staff to visit the History Gallery of Fujian Women in the compound of Fujian Women’s Federation.

     Focusing on the theme of pursuing equality and yearning for the future, the gallery is divided into four chapters following the timeline of liberation, construction, opening and reform, and achieving Chinese dream.   Most representative female figures from Fujian province in different periods of time were chosen on display to shape Fujian women’s spirit of striving to improve, rallying to cooperate, aspiring for innovation, and daring to be the best. Via the formats of pictures, audio-video, scripts and objects, the gallery demonstrates gorgeous achievements of Women’s movement, glorious development of women under the leadership of the Communist Party, and great contribution of women to politics, economy, culture, education, science, health, sports, art, and communication.

     Faculty and staff were very proud of seeing old Hwa Nan photos in the gallery, underscoring the importance of Hwa Nan in women’s education in Fujian and China. After the visit, former Vice President Wenxiu Lin and Vice President Suling Yuan of Fujian Women’s Federation held talks with College President Su, Vice President Huang, and Consultant Lin. College leaders thanked women’s federation for its longstanding support to college’s development and cordially invited them to visit the college.  Both parties agree to continue close contacts and cooperation.
